Union jacks on sale alongside other household wares at a variety store on the Lower Newtownards Road, attempting to satisfy the demand for Union flags these days, as the “flags dispute” continues. (Continuing coverage from BBC-NI | U.tv.) Wednesday (January 9, 2013) was a ‘designated day’ for flying the Union flag over Belfast City Hall. The ‘fleg’ (to give it a Belfast pronunciation) was raised at 8 a.m., and lowered at 7 p.m.
